And there is not many other instructors in the area that have the pedigree that our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Master has… His name is Professor Tim Carpenter, co-founder of Nak Muay Gym Chalfont. Tim Carpenter is a retired professional MMA champion, former Bellator MMA fighter and Gracie Jiu Jitsu Black Belt.
Professor Tim’s Jiu Jitsu classes are action packed with a perfect balance between Gracie Self-Defense techniques, Sport Jiu Jitsu, student skill progression and students personal fitness levels and goals. Developing a strong mind, body and spirit is the core principles of Tim Carpenter BJJ. Professor Tim has created a curriculum intended to nurture a total beginner, (White Belt) to a mastery level of BJJ. (Black Belt)
NO GI | SUBMISSION WRESTLING| GRAPPLING - Everyone is required to start out their BJJ training in the Gi, or otherwise referred to as a ‘Kimono’. When you have a good grasp on the basic positions, and submissions of Jiu Jitsu, you will then be able to join the No Gi Grappling class. This is also know as submission wrestling.
MUAY THAI - You can expect to learn authentic Muay Thai training at Nak Muay Gym Chalfont. Our head instructor and co-founder Kru Eric Karner is a certified Muay Thai “Kru” or teacher in Thai. Eric has traveled countless times to the country of Thailand to learn this great martial art first hand. Many of Philadelphia’s top professional MMA fighters come to train with Eric to prepare for their fights.
Kru Eric has designed a system of curriculum, that has (7) levels of progression. This begins with learning the most basic of fundamentals.
You will learn and progress step by step through each level. The structure is as follows level 1. foundations , level 2 novice, level 3 beginner, level 4 intermediate, level 5 advanced, level 6 advanced concepts and instructors certification, and level 7 mastery level.
Regardless of your current physical condition, athletic abilities, or martial arts experience, our Muay Thai program is designed for every individual to progress at their own pace. And it is our goal to see to it that each and every student has the support network to help them along the way.
